Faux gatefold card

Good morning on this wet but warm Wednesday.

Today I'd like to share Monday nights crafting

On my face book live I created 4 cards using the same layout but different ideas.

I started with a standard A6 card base ( 21cm x 14.8cm scored at 10.5cm) in thick whisper white card.

I then cut a mat 10.4cm x 14.7cm using either glitter paper or metallic card.

I then cut a piece of dsp (designer series paper) 10cm x 14.3cm.

From that piece of paper 1 cut a 3cm piece off the bottom ( so I then had a piece 3cm x 10cm and 11.3cm x 10cm)

The larger piece I trimmed to 9.6 cm before cutting in half vertically giving me 2 pieces 11.3cm x 4.8cm.

I took care to cut the dsp in such a way as the reverse was aligned how I wanted.

I glued the 3 pieces of dsp onto the mat layer using glue, leaving a small boarder around each piece as shown. this whole layer was then glued to the base card.

Then using a coordinating stamp set I stamped an image using moment black ink and cut out using a stitched oval die. You could use any shape die here.

I also stamped another image that I fussy cut out. The stitched oval was adhered to the card using dimensionals and the fussy cut element was placed off to one side also using dimensionals.

To finish off a sentiment label was added.

I do hope you have fun recreating this layout with stamps and dsp you have in your stash.

Please join me on Monday on my Facebook page for another live showcase of a card layout.

Take care and enjoy your day.

Crafting Update Sunday

Good morning, I hope you are all well.
I have been busy this week finishing Max's room ( still a few bits to finish), also been doing a bit of gardening. I've joined a gym so have been swimming and following a gym plan this week, boy I do feel old.
In the Stampin Up world a few things are happening.
Firstly the Christmas catalogue is live. So delve right in to get your mojo into festive creativity.

Secondly if its still too early for you for Christmas then Stampin Up has box of Sunshine just waiting for you
This is a kit to make 8 cards, it includes all you need, ink, stamps, cards , envelopes and embellishments.
Once you've made your cards you can send them to cheer up your friends and family, you can also fill the box with some fun things to really brighten someones day. We can all do with more sunshiny things in this uncertain time.

As always join me on a Monday evening on my Facebook page for live crafting.

Just a little glimpse of one of my new plants in my garden
I hope you all enjoy your Sunday and have a great week

It's August and time for new resolutions.

Well hasn't it been a long time since I last posted. A lot has happened this year and I'm sure we can all agree that it has been a challenge and will continue to be for some time in the future. Time for some new resolutions.
During these last few months I for one have enjoyed spending time at home relaxing and getting things sorted but there is only so much of that you can do. I have also been immersed in my craft room creating cards to thank key workers and just creating for my own pleasure. But don't you find that you have to constantly reorganise how you have things stored? Or is that just me. Only this past week have I moved all of my Stampin Blends to the trolley to the right of my desk instead of in the cupboard behind. I am finding now though I am using them more and its not a chore to put them away after use. I'm sat here typing this post thinking I need to have a better system for my embellishments and can see a little swapping around happening in a minute.

In July I started to have a consistent Facebook live on a Monday evening on my Facebook Page  I start between 7:30 and 8pm for about an hour. I demonstrate making cards, I generally start with a stamp set in mind and pull things together through out the hour, making between 2-4 cards. For August my lives will be showing and using layouts, as we don't all have the same stamp set this will help to use what you have.

But also in August I am going to be more focused on blogging and Pinterest.
I want you to be using what you have got in your stash but I would also appreciate you stocking up on essentials from me, like adhesive and basic card. So if I can help you in anyway please drop me a line or head straight to my SHOP
Here are the cards from my Facebook live 3rd August 2020
The stamp sets I have used are
The card is a standard A6 card blank and my layers are whisper white 14.3cm x 10cm and the coloured card mat is 13.3cm x 9cm.
The colours I have used are Pretty Peacock, Magenta madness and Misty Moonlight.

Thank you for stopping by and catch up with you all next time. Mean while stay safe and happy and enjoy a bit of crafting
