Butterfly Brilliance 17th March 2021

 Good afternoon

Sorry its taken me a while to get this post done.

If anyone has any good suggestions for being a little more organised feel free to share.

On Wednesday 17th I had a very busy evening, firstly it was team training and then I did my Facebook live.

Team training is done by one of my Stampin Up uplines. I'm fortunate in that the wider team I'm in means I have 3 very good splines to be able to turn to to help me with my little craft hobby.

This Team training was hosted by Julie Kettlewell and consisted of the her Jems Team. She gives us a brief overview of the latest what's happening and then we craft together. We usually use something that is very new and this month was using the Butterfly Brilliance Suite.

Unfortunately we must have all been that excited with the samples and product that the papers have sold out completely.

Good news is the stamps and dies as a bundle are available now and will be around in the new catalogue in May. There is also the speciality paper that is also available.

I think this stamp set and die bundle has lots of potential for all occasions.

Here are the cards I made during training and later on my Facebook live.

I die cut the butterflies from the Bijou paper ( sorry it sold out) and the negative piece ( waste) was turned the speciality paper die cut butterflies fit just perfectly in the apertures. and the detailed die fits nicely over the top. A few gems finished the card off.
I tend to make my cards and add sentiments later, I have been donating my cards to various charities since lock down and although I kept count last year I stopped counting but I reckon Ive probably donated 5500 to 600 cards.

Wednesday 10th March 2021 Facebook live

 Good Afternoon

These are the cards I created on last nights Facebook live.

I wanted to show a few different uses of DSP ( designer series paper) and the coordination of the products from Stampin Up.

I used the 2019-21 in-colours Rocco Rose and Seaside spray , specifically the card stock and ribbon and the Paper bloom dsp from saleabration.

I cu one piece of dsp into strips which were then adhered back into the card with a small gap in between, a ribbon and knot was added along with a sentiment stamped in the same colour as the card base. In this sample it was seaside spray.

The next card used a piece of dsp as a panel on top of the card blank. Before adhering though ribbon was secured around and a knot added. I then cut some of the circle shapes out from the dsp and a large flower. After deciding on an arrangement these dsp pieces were then glued down either flat or raised with dimensionals.

The last card started with a rococo rose card blank and a standemard mat of dsp. To which strips of ribbon were adhered across in strips. Some flowers cut from

the dsp and a sentiment were then arranged on the card.

Gilded leafing masterclass

Todays Gilded Leafing masterclass on zoom

We learnt 4 techniques using the leafing and heat and stick powder. to produce several cards.

These are the ones I made during the session.

Top tips to using the gilded leafing and heat and stick powder.
  •  ensure your embossing pad is juicy, or use the stamparatus to lay down several layers of ink.
  • use the heat tool on the lowest setting
  • heat for the briefest time, as soon as you see the powder change then move to next spot as overheating drys it out.
  • use a sponge to remove excess leaf and buff.

Piñata Darling Donkey

Good evening

I just wanted to share my Piñata Darling Donkey card from Sundays Facebook live. I cased the idea from The Stamping Zoo aka Lisa Hardin.

Casing is where you copy and share something that someone else created, and you are allowed to make alterations.

This is my finished Piñata Donkey, I used the patterned play designer series paper and the coordinating ins and stamping write markers

Full details are in my Facebook video

Facebook Live Sunday 28th February

I know the darling donkeys aren't available now but you can always substitute. What about a butterfly or a snail? let your imagination go wild.
