First home craft event
I've dabbled in demonstrating/ running card classes for over 25 years but this year I'm going to do something monthly if I can.
So on April the first 8 ladies joined me for tea, cake and craft
We made the following projects
So on April the first 8 ladies joined me for tea, cake and craft
We made the following projects
These cards were made using the happy celebrations stamp set ( spring catalogue stampin up 143012)
And either one ink pad using the various generations of stamping or 2 sort of coordinating inks. The pink card for example used watermelon wonder and pink pirouette.
This cute gift box uses the gift box punch board ( 135863 stampin up catalogue)
And stamp set birthday fiesta and die set available as a bundle ( 142268)
And finally this cute gift bag using the gift bag punch board (135862) and beautiful banners stamp set (141894).

Everyone enjoyed getting inky and the projects were spot on.
As I said this is the kind of event I will be hosting once a month. About 2 weeks before I'll post what the projects will be so if you want to join me you can decide if it's for you that month. I have to limit to 8 maximum and must say I do have pets ( cats, dog and reptiles).
If you like the stampin up stuff then head over to www.stampinup.com/home/en-GB/. Then find a demonstrator - demonstrator directory and search on my name Donna Golby. You can then shop with me.
That's all for now

Mothers Day cards
Had a lovely lazy Sunday watching craft telly and creating a few cards.
I've combined a few different things.
Firstly I made some gated cards using crafters companion grand entrance createacard die, Joanna sheens Sung Kim pad 1 and Sue Wilson's finishing touches spring foliage. I added tags from the stampin up That's the tag stamp set.

And just because I was in the mood I created 2 more cards this time using Sue Wilson's classic base die, the apple blossom, tranquil poppy and catkin stem dies. I also used the Portuguese background die and Megan tag die. I finished off with a peel off sentiment and a sizzix blossom embossing folder.
All the die cutting and embossing was done using the Gemini, all the card used was scrapes from my scrap box.
I've had fun today and just had a go. I hope you also get time to have a good play.

Fiesta like there's no manana
Good Sunday afternoon. Just recovered from a school trip to CERN, Geneva Switzerland. It's a great trip and the city is amazing but it's a little grey.
So to finish my coasters from last week on the reverse side I have stamped images from the stampin up set birthday fiesta.

I used memento black ink for the llama and flag details. and cucumber crush for the cacti and watermelon wonder, crushed curry and pear pizzazz for the flags and edge inking.
I just need to add a layer of varnish and this completes my set.

Beautiful You coasters
Good morning.
Just had to share a project that has been in my mind for a while ( well it was supposed to be Christmassy but)
I purchased these lovely little coasters from Joanna sheens site. A set of six.
I painted them using tester paint pots from wilkinson in chalk white, milky coffee and yellow.
I then stamped each of the ladies from the beautiful You stamp set from stampin up, twice.
And a matching sentiment.
I painted over the whole thing with creative expressions glaze and sparkle to finish.
I've decided that on the reverse I'm going to stamp something more vibrant from the fiesta stamp set. So I can have 2 looks to choose from.
And I have a set of the round coasters that will be my Christmas set.
Thanks for stopping by

Then on the right hand side at the top of the page you will see my profile and there should be a google follow button.
I will check that this works later.
All for now.

Sue Wilson gum ball machine
Happy Saturday. This is my second blog post.
When Sue launched this die set I just had to have it. I ordered mine from Joanna Sheen's site and it came within a couple of days.
You need the die set and various components. A handle, a foam insert and a treat cup. All items are linked to the gum ball die on Joanna's site.
Following Sues instructions on the packaging, which are really good, you can also watch Sue on youtube https://youtu.be/O2EH7wE_qjM
I added one of the accessory dies to the background.
My adjustments to the instructions are that I used the tray slot die to cut the refill hole in the back and extended it a little. I found that gave a better finish than me trying to cut a slot by hand.
I filled this one with tic tacs but I made another and filled with gum balls. I added a card stand to help it stand but it is quite thick so stands quite well without. For my second make (sorry no pictures) I made a box base for the back which covers the sides and therefore hides the foam core. It was fiddly so I will have another go but for that one I needed to post it off for my nephews birthday.
Sue is also demonstrating this on Hochanda today at 11am.

Beautiful You
Good evening.
Finally got a bit of mojo to create a few cards using the new Stampin up stamp set Beautiful You. I was inspired by a paper pieced version of this stamp sent to me. So I have used that idea and made it my way.
Firstly I stamped the image onto cream paper twice I trimmed them down in size. I then stamped the same image onto 2 different coloured/patterned papers this makes 2 cards. I cut out the umbrella the ladies top and the skirt from the patterned papers. I used a craft knife on a glass cutting mat but you could use scissors. I then glued a pink umbrella and skirt and a blue top over the main stamped image. I inked around the edge and matted and layered up. For the second card I used the opposite pieces. I then assembled the cards finishing them of with flowers, pearls gems and the sentiment.
This is my first post so I hope you like my cards.
